Driver's who give back fans to the fans VS those who don't

As a kid in '70s my Dad and I always went to the races at Darlington. After the track was clear, the flagman would climb down from his perch, unlock the gate and the fans spread out in search of their favorite drivers. And all would autograph your book, program, or if you were really lucky they had a post card hand out. Being that these days were before the Sharpie pen they would autograph the back of the card since that was the only way the card could be…

The best driver there ever was

In any sports discussion the question of who was the greatest will always come up. Comparisons will be made between who from yesteryear could have competed in today's world and who today could have competed in the past. Then you get down to hall of fame discussions of why one person made a hall of fame class and questions of why another one never was nominated. These are questions that will go on as long as competitive sports exist.

In our little realm here we often ask who…

Robbie I guess I have tried just about type of auto racing we have in the south leaving out road tracks and mud bogging. I have only scratched the surface of my pictures .--- why show them all at one time--- I dont have many sprint pictures because that was the year my dad died and we were a team so you know how that went down-- after finding Racers Reunion I have a whole new set of new friends that remember when too so its like almost reliving your life all over again -- its hard to describe the feeling but trust me its almost like that first kiss--do you remember that??? i sure do----------------------------------memories

Thanks Jim, we really appreciate what you do with the radio show and guest.
Also thanks for getting the pictures to Robbie, some of them have already appeared on these sites. This doesn't mean the invitation to drop in is not still open, in fact it's an open invitation. It's been so, long but I hope you remember all the young people who spent friday nights through sunday afternoons at our house and how close racing families were. We may be older but our love grows more each year for people who the Lord puts in our paths. We go back to the 60's, don't seem too long when you say it fast,ha!
We hope you continue to do what you love so much. God bless and we love you.

I do hope some of you listened in to the series I produced with Billy Scott for RacersReunion's "Racing through History" series on the "Racing the
Way it Was" radio show. It's heard Tuesdeay nights from 7-9 eastern time. .
We produce audio features with legends...and Billy is THE LEGEND when it comes to successes and longevity in stock car racing. He started in the mid-50s and raced till 1999. Well, maybe Herschel McGriff has him beat in length of yearfs on the tracks.
